the main reason to use https is to stop someone sniffing traffic from seeing what you do on the site - ie. school/work administrators or people logging public access points etc. can see your username and anything you post

password security is secondary; if someone gets your password they can post as you until you reset your password; who cares? unless you're the kind of mongelroy who uses the same password for everything, I guess

When I as at School, long ago.

There was a boy who I shouldn't name called Paul Bentley

He was bullied lots.

One day before the teacher had arrived in classroom, a naughty child had drawn this on the whiteboard

All very entertaining I'm sure you'll agree.
The naughty child then shouted out

'Bentley, Bentley! Draw the pubes! Draw the pubes!'

Bentley was reluctant, he thought the teacher would walk in just as he started to draw.

Eventually he was cajoled into stepping up to the whiteboard, marker in hand.

'Draw the pubes! Draw the pubes!' chanted the class.

What Bentley drew relegated him to the world of the bullied forever. When he stepped away from the board this is what we saw.

the volunteer battalions are not military-trained, they're largely extreme nationalists who want to fight anyone who threatens their ideal ukraine. they're undisciplined and do not respect the chain of command.

these crimes have become ordinary. The victims in this case are not even 'enemies' in the east, just people unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity of where the 'volunteers' are stationed.
