I mean, you could say the same thing about the BBC. I don't think there's anything inherently better or worse about state vs. privately funded outlets, they're both subject to similar pressures and biases... FYI RT is only around 50% state funded.
I can't really speak for the TV channels but the RT website has been far more reliable in terms of coverage than any other major news outlet I'm aware of. -
