pinning him in place was something of a mercy considering how badly he wanted to stay out of the car, and as far as I know the only reason he was pinned so long is because the medics were delayed -

it's a technique that's used in parts of the US and other countries; it doesn't block the airway or blood flow and in order to put someone out by cutting off blood flow, you need to hit both main arteries on either side of the neck.
The last testimony from the coroner was that his blood was still rich with oxygen (98% or something) indicating he hadn't been choked out. -

basically the US supports the current (Zelensky) coup-imposed government, but the government's ability to govern comes directly from these hard right guys - AZOV, TRIDENT, RIGHT SECTOR etc. - they are extremely politically powerful as well as forming 'volunteer battalions' which effectively make them beserkers. Poor military training but access to heavy weapons is a dangerous combination, especially if you look into how CYCLONE behaved or the fact that KIEV-2 battalion is literally just a Chechen ISIS group. -
