That's cultural. They are going off the beliefs of their parents who came from an era not much different to that of their parents. It's what they've been raised believing.
Computers weren't cheap and easy then.
Neither were $400 flights available.
If they knew about the lifestyle available now, they wouldn't waste their teenage years studying hard to waste their early 20s studying hard to waste their life up to 35 working stupidly hard to get promoted and become 'rich'.
If they could handle driving a Toyota Corolla they would be so happy.
They wouldn't be drones to enjoy their 50s. At which point they are too old to do a backflip on a BMX and 20 years from death.

After WW2 immigration was common from places like Italy and wherever else. Those were Nazi allied countries.
The 60s to 80s had Asians and Arabs. Still no problems.
Today it is a free for all. Not just friendlies or refugees.
And that's just the rest of the world. America was always diverse even before the post war immigration.
This is not a problem. It won't be a problem.
