50 years ago jobs mattered. Now we all can easily have the same standard of living, just different brands. Bed is still soft. Jacket is still warm.
Backpacking across Europe for three weeks is probably a better holiday than staying in a 5 star hotel. -

Neither were $400 flights available.
If they knew about the lifestyle available now, they wouldn't waste their teenage years studying hard to waste their early 20s studying hard to waste their life up to 35 working stupidly hard to get promoted and become 'rich'.
If they could handle driving a Toyota Corolla they would be so happy.
They wouldn't be drones to enjoy their 50s. At which point they are too old to do a backflip on a BMX and 20 years from death.
