Arnox didn't seem to be bad, he seemed lenient, cared about the community, implemented features users wanted. He didn't owe us anything and put in the large amount of work it can take to build and optimize a website, pay for it.
What he did seem to be was a very naive aspie that may have been taken advantage of cruelly. His social ineptness may have led to people singling him out and bullying him. It's similar to how animals, even very young ones in some species, will gang up on the deformed, even kill or eat them. The roots of one aspect of ostracism, an ugly facet of human nature; drive out those that will be a burden to the tribe/herd.

You had the "utterly terrible members" from day 1, you didn't close the site until sigma thoroughly cucked you. Mind you he was a cunt-lord and you didn't deserve it but being honest it wasn't the userbase that broke the camel's back. There is nothing that was posted on sanc, rdfrn, or here that was above and beyond what got posted on totse in terms of objectionality or user obstinance. I'm not going to dick stroke too much seeing as I run a desolate fifth incarnation of a forum that went bust years ago but I've banned one user from here I think, and it was a spam bot. I'm yet to be arrested, ganked, raped or whatever else it is that admins fear. My PI has been in circulation since zoklet, I'm still looking forward to the day I explain to my boss how I pretended to be a girl for years on a drug/crime board. The userbase isn't half as "bad" as it's been made out to be and from an observer's perspective it had basically nothing to do with the sanc getting shut down. Like yeah, if the user base had all been singing your praises you might not have felt the need to take your ball and go home in the wake of the drama that preceded the end but is that a realistic expectation to have of any group of posters? What kind of users would you have needed to keep the doors open after the fateful backstabbing?
You know what, Lanny, I used to think you chilled out but now I see you really don't understand crap. And I was about to explain it all to you too, but then I realized something. Nobody would care. And then I noticed something about myself. I don't care either. At least not about that crap anymore. Because I stopped caring when I saw the user core I was going to have to work with. And I honestly don't give a crap how you admin, Lanny. Different website, different times, even lower amounts of users. And pretty much everyone knows this website is dead. You even admitted just now. So please. Of course you're not going to have trouble with your userbase when nobody cares anymore and so little are here.
But hey. If you want me to explain, just say, and we can reopen this entire can of worms again. That's up to you. Or you can start fixing your site that's been stupidly slow for the past 3+ months. -

There's two versions of Sanctuary. The original and the "experimental" version.

It's nicer looking and has shiny vB 4.2 but it has none of the threads or the user accounts of the original. Which was done on purpose. -

Can you open the smf version of sanctuary? At last as an archive so w can look at the stuff we posted? Id argue what killed your site is moving to vb. If you just opened the old sanctuary after rdfrn closed we would still have a majority of the userbase.
Unfortunately no. I can get threads for you that you specifically request but opening up the whole forum won't happen. It was closed due to being backstabbed and having some utterly terrible members who wouldn't calm down or screw off. As I said a long while ago, the original Sanctuary isn't dead but it's moving very far away from you all. To everyone that wasn't involved in the faggotry, sorry but it's nothing personal. To the people that were involved, it's incredibly personal.
As to the experimental (vB) version of Sanctuary I moved to the vB version BECAUSE of the faggotry. Heck, I wasn't expecting the vB version to last at ALL. And when I made it at the time, it was just to test the vB 4.2 software. Hence, the "Experimental" moniker. But every once in awhile, people keep popping in for some reason... So I keep it open still. -
