Sanctuary was actually not supposed to be reopened at all. Not this early anyway. I cleaned it up and reopened it though to give another community a place to stay since their forum was going tits up. I also dearly missed the old rules and the totse (read: ACTUAL totse) way of doing things. Right now, there is literally no site on the internet that delivers that experience besides mine. You could say I got weak and regressed. I thought enough time had passed to where you guys would had hopefully long forgotten all about it and that it was okay to open it for business again without a domain change. I guess that was probably kinda stupid to think.
So here we are. And right now, I don't actually know at all what to say. I'm probably gonna have to change the domain now just to keep you guys off, because I know that asking you all politely to stay off is gonna do precisely dick. I will ask you all this one thing though. Why the hell would you even want to go back to my forum? You guys have NiS and it looks like you're all happy here. So there's pretty much zero reason to come to my forum. I don't have the original posts and threads up anymore. I saved them a long time ago and cleaned it all out. So that's gone. Why come back then? To troll me? Who the hell cares?
I guess in the end, it doesn't matter what I say here. You're all gonna pile in anyway. Spam it. Maybe even try to bring it down. Hell, someone already tried flooding it. Well, do whatever you're gonna do. At least I can say that I tried being civil before the shots get fired.

Sure. And yes. I could open the site for a short while during a day of the week but... I'd be more comfortable inspecting and executing a line of SQL to get TRT. -

Lanny maybe willing to help. Possibly sophie too. Even if they seem like they've been/have been dicks, they may do it just out of care for saving/preserving a major part of the community's history. Although, Lanny may be too busy, sohie may have time and possibly the skills, but I don't know if he cares enough (you wouldn't really be helping Arnox sophie, as in improving some aspect of his life, the purpose would be to what I mentioned above).

I don't give a shit about these archives, as far as I'm concerned there isn't and never was anything of value on your site. The reason Lanny's site is going so well is because instead of trying and struggling to handle the community, like sanctuary and rdfrn did, Lanny instead gives zero fucks. The only rules being what, no CP and no planning crimes? There are no mods, no politics, and for an internet forum like this one- that works. I'm not saying all this to shit on you, but because I'm sick of seeing you argue about your failed site. Zok and idio aren't on here bitching about how their site went down. OK... I'm gonna go through your post and explain this all one more time. After that, tough titties.
1. You're the one throwing the tantrum here I think. I've been perfectly calm this entire time.
2. Individual threads belong to the individual authors. I am perfectly willing to export any threads people suggest specifically but to dump the entire database would mean other malicious and otherwise unsavory parties getting their hands on all those contributions, which, to me, is utterly despicable. So, I have to keep the whole database locked up. And if you wanna get REALLY technical, in order for forum admins to do their jobs, posting on Sanctuary or really ANY forum is an agreement that you surrender some control over to the admins so they can host the message and maintain it as they see fit. This is why you can't sue any site or admin just because they've locked or deleted your thread or even parts of it.
3. The site ran just fine. Unfortunately, we also had faggots DoSing/DDoSing us constantly, which, I might add, Leaseweb handled really well. (Seriously, they're awesome hosts and I really recommend them if you're looking for an overseas host for whatever reason.) And when it comes to preventing a DDoS attack, you're options are mostly either to pay some SERIOUS money for the server power to handle that all, or wait it out. Since I'm not Bill Gates, I had to do the latter.
4. This thread was made because Sanctuary Experimental starting getting a couple random members asking about things, and I know some here are friends of mine and don't know how to contact me besides this site. So, posting a quick thread couldn't hurt. You guys are the ones who brought up the past. You're even the ones who keep bumping it. lol
5. Yes, I want you to think about this for a second. The only way... For this zoo to function... Is to have almost 0 rules. Do you know how pathetic that is? That you guys are the ones having the tantrums when you have to follow any reasonable rules at all? Even Idio effing agrees with me now. And he was a really nice guy. Who you guys crapped on and then blamed when he found out a whole lot of you are utterly out of control. Hate me all you want for saying all this but the fact is, you guys are /b/tards in disguise. I've always wondered why you guys don't just go there instead of keeping up this charade.of being actual totseans. Totse had some idiots, absolutely, but it also had some class mixed in too. But starting out with this… Maybe I could have gotten it to all work somehow but I think it's too late anyway. It looks like I need to cut all my losses and make a clean break with this past.[/FONT]

It may be a long while before I start the site back up again but if I do, I don't really plan to have any members from RDFRN or past Sanctuary on it. I will be scouting around for a while, looking in many different places. Looking for quality members and gathering them together for a new project of sorts. I already have a few in mind. Better believe it. My host makes daily backups of the site. Obviously though, the attack that day screwed up that backup since the attackers erased EVERYTHING so I had to get the backup from yesterday or the day before that. Honestly though, not a big deal. I think the biggest thing I lost that I'm most angry about is the forum specializations I had started up then, but it's OK. The idea's all in my mind so I can just reimplement it whenever I start Sanctuary Original Edition back up again of course. -
