   My bad, Candy! I went to bed early because I had to wake up very early for college. But I wanted to say I really enjoyed the movie so thanks for recommending it. I did not know there was going to be comedy so that was also a pleasant surprise. I really liked the scenery. Made me wonder if Hong Kong really looked like that. I predicted that the little deaf girl was the same as the candy-selling woman and oh boy was she cute! If I recall correctly, the lead actor was also the writer and director but I could be wrong. Apparently they are planning on working on a sequel, or a spiritual successor set in modern times. But the last time they said anything about that was 2019 and now it is already 2024! Did you get around to watching the Japanese horror movie? Oh and I remembered your favorite scene as it was happening. I did not like how one of those three martial arts fighters was beheaded because he was a nice guy.

    Oohh hahaha, that's actually The Ring from 2002, which was the very first remake of a Japanese horror movie. The movie they remade was Ringu from 1998. It's probably the most influential horror movie to exist, because it introduced the "ghost with long black hair" type of villain.

    Really? That's interesting. Do you remember any scenes from the movie? Because it's basically a scene-for-scene remake, at least when it comes to the scary scenes. I think I will just recommend Ju-on: The Grudge 2 instead, which is from 2003. It's a sequel to Ju-on: The Grudge which was released in 2002. Here is the link:

    (It took me a while longer to find it, it's strange, before I could easily find them on Kissasian or Myasiantv or Dramacool but now all those websites and their alternatives have Chinese-subtitled versions of it only, like wtf is going on?!)

    I didn't know you liked that kind of music, I figured you only liked hip-hop/r&b based on what I saw you posting (then again, k-pop and j-pop also incorporate those genres, but I meant I thought you only liked English music). I've got a few recommendations if you'd like. My Spotify likes are filled with Japanese, Korean and Pakistani songs only. And a few Chinese ones.

    I will, tomorrow! It's a promise. I don't think I'll be watching a horror movie tonight, because it's almost 3 a.m. and if I watch a movie right now, I'll probably end up sleeping around 6/7 a.m. again.
    
    I wanted to recommend Ju-on: The Grudge, but I fear you may have already watched the American remake. Have you watched The Grudge from 2004? If so, I'll see which other horror movie I should recommend instead. Then I'll send you the link immediately.

    5000 years? Try 500 years. The first civilizations from at least 3,300 BCE were in Pakistan, China, Egypt, Iraq and Peru. All of whom were inhabited by non-whites.

    They're actually quite distinct. K-pop tends to be more upbeat, whereas J-pop tends to be more melodious. I like both. Sometimes there's crossovers, with k-pop artists releasing Japanese versions of their songs, which I consider to be j-pop, even though technically it's k-pop. Many Korean boy bands and girl groups do this, but I've never seen any Japanese artists releasing Korean versions of their songs. I think it's because Koreans want to appeal to Japanese audiences as well since there's 120 million Japanese people, which means there's a larger market for them to dominate. Seventeen is my favorite k-pop group but I also like BTS, especially their Japanese songs.
