Sometimes its fun to feel self pity if you know in the back of your head that it isn't quite true. Just enough to make a rainy day seem a bit more somber, grants a sense of reverance and dampens something in the soul (in a good way). Darkens things.

If drugs become the focal point of your existence obviously it will have a negative impact on other areas of your life. But there have been plenty of people who used to post in our community who have since moved on to bigger and better things who did all sorts of drugs and still led successful lives. In fact I think the people who become addicts are prone to becoming addicts because of physical differences in their brain due to either genetic abnormalities or unfortunate childhood experiences. Check out the "rat park" study for more information on that idea.

if the police are concerned they'll either make an account or give Lanny a big floppy subpoenis anyway. Having it open improves search ranking, assuming people start posting worthwhile stuff in there. Just use tor/a VPN if you're concerned for your safety, it's always best to assume the site is already compromised

You can't "spoof" your IP address if you don't control the infrastructure so really proxies are your only option. You want to understand the rate limiting logic as exactly as you can so you can minimize the number of proxies you'll need but procuring more addresses is really the only option unless you can find some exploit pertaining to the rate limiting. Proxies usually aren't too hard though, TOR is available if you're trying to do something like crawl rather than DDoS and I understand that large numbers of proxies (presumably coming from monetized botnets) are fairly cheap to purchase.

You're a prized possession to the &T community, and, for what it's still worth, this community. You will always stand out in the forefront of my mental banner recollection. I was always too stupid to know most of what you were talking about kinda, KINDA. Don't ever belive I was THAT dumb that I didn't kinda know but I probably didn't ever know enough or try hard enough to understand. That's what's always separated you from what I think of, me.
