i just got a call from my bosses boss. he wants me to come in tomorrow and sign a NDA to start working a second shift doing patrols of the corporate property for forty dollars an hour on a 3 month contract. that's more than i make as a flag technician, and i'm not allowed to talk to my coworkers about this. have any of you done this sort of gig? he told me i'd be expected to carry, which a lot of people do where i work anyways, but this would be overnight stuff. he said he has a tricked out g-wagon with light turrets that i'd be driving... sounds like a great deal. could be extremely boring, just patrolling empty buildings all night.
wew. i ordered a beretta from a supplier who also sells brand new machine guns, and i hadn't noticed on the page that 'this is for law enforcement and military customers only', because why the fuck would a beretta pistol be restricted. but, they took my money and it's shipped anyways.
they sell M249 machine guns for 7700 dollars and MP5A2's for 1800. colt M4 automatic carbines for 1100. i have to figure out what hoop i jump through to get my hands on the real shit.
there are many other guns most of the time that i'd rather be shooting for various reasons. but under-estimating the .22 is wrong, especially out of a rifle, especially with modern ammunition. and you can't over-estimate the value of having thousands and thousands of rounds for chump change. basically a life time supply for hunting costs a couple hundred bucks. 1000 rounds weighs about five pounds and can fit into a medium ziplock bag.
spectral is wrong about .22 going through armor, and mostly wrong about it 'pinballing' around. but don't think that a .22 won't take your life. it unquestionably will.

i'm seeing 200 cartridges of .303 british for a little over 500 bucks, online. i can see why you'd load your own. have you figured out how much you're paying for a shot of your own reloads? from the sound of it, the brass will last you many loads. those mad minute drill things make me want one.
Russian SKS, British Enfield, Chinese/American M14. Couple twenty twos. A flintlock. A single shot shotty. Was out hunting with the enfield last year. I just got my reloading kit setup, so will be tinkering around with that while the country's shut down.
what is the ammo situation for the enfield like? i always wanted to try one. is the action as nice as they say?

to add to that, i recently got a 'delay' on my NICS inquiry, when it's always been 3-10 minutes to a 'proceed' in the past. you can't 'delay' a right, either. it made me wonder if they had blacklisted me because i finally said something about killing niggers one too many times on the internet. which i have a right to do.
we have adequate grounds to declare the NICS background check to be unconstitutional, because in the even that the government is unable to maintain their fucking servers, it prevents people from getting guns. if they want to maintain it and let FFL's (also unconstitutional, you don't need a license to sell guns or machineguns) access it, that's fine, but if it goes down, the FFL has to be able to hand out guns for cash with nothing but a receipt to show for it.
