2018-02-09 at 10:05 PM UTC in CSS?CSS just makes stuff look different. It does more now, but the basic idea was to take so-and-so specific HTML element or types of elements or whatever, and say they're going to have this color, this size, etc. It's a way to take things that would normally be all over the place in HTML (<font> tags everywhere) and put them in one place, in the CSS, where you can change them easily and have it take effect for all the pages using that CSS.
CSS is only providing instruction to the browser about how some things look and behave, it isn't taking and processing data and performing complex tasks like a programming language. -

I understand you have some kind of 'mail.domain.com' record but this doesn't make mail work. MX record tells other people where to contact the mail server for your domain. Sometimes it's different from the webserver, for example. In this case it should point to the same server IP or to your mail.domain.com which leads to the same place.
Edit: there is precedent to only point it to the domain and not the IP but I didn't notice a problem when I did it wrong before :D https://serverfault.com/questions/663112/why-cant-mx-records-point-to-an-ip-address

Then of course you need a mail server running. I don't know what OS / distro you're on but I've never had one come with a working mailserver. You may be looking at sendmail or something. That won't really do what you want, you should look into setting up postfix + dovecot or something like that. Or look into these:

2018-02-02 at 3:41 AM UTC in trolling redditorsRedditors are insufferable. As a generalization.
If you post a comment in the spirit of exploring an idea they just assume you're arguing with them. People will go several comments deep having an argument when they already agree with each other.
They're too autistic for it to even occur to them that something might be sarcasm, satire, or outright bait, no matter how ridiculous it is, if you forgot to put "/s" on it, ruining the joke.
When they are actually having an argument, half the time it's in bad faith with no charity.
Debate might exist somewhere there, I don't know.
You have to spell everything out if you don't want to be taken wrong but you still will be. There are little niches where it's all right though. -

2016-12-15 at 12:38 AM UTC in How fast can you type?Yeah that's why I made a video. If you are actually good at typing, nobody except other typing nerds believes you.
And yes that test is weird and not representative. Still fun though. Sometimes you can form the disjointed words into nonsense phrases. I mostly play Typeracer but hi-games.net is good for extended tests [you can edit the time value in the URL of the typing test to anything]. The perennial top result typingtest.com (probably) still shits itself if you go over around 120 WPM.
Nobody seems to require a decent typing speed for anything, even jobs that are made up entirely of typing. Whatever though, they wouldn't be able to find anyone if they got too crazy with the speed requirements. I've just never seen one that's the least bit ambitious.
You can do 100 WPM and a lot more if you try. I'm nowhere near the top, look at these people http://www.seanwrona.com/typeracer/leaders.php?sort=wpm_textbests&rank_start=1&rank_end=100
#1 is a cheater and I know #2 through 5 are legit. The bar is so so low under what plenty of people can do.
Nobody who knows anything about this would fake 102 WPM. :^)

2016-12-07 at 5:05 AM UTC in What's the deal with de-caf coffee anyway?I assumed everyone tolerated / adapted to coffee for the effects. Now I've tried some great foreign coffee -- Vietnamese and Puerto Ricans know how to do that shit -- but the fact remains that in America, most coffee you encounter is disappointing shitwater. The richest part of the stuff is the fucking smell. And now who are these people who don't even want the caffeine? The hell are they drinking it for then? I don't get it.

2016-12-07 at 4:56 AM UTC in Mechanical keyboardsRight, reds aren't clicky at all, it's entirely a linearly increasing resistance with no tactile bump as in the category of brown and up, and no audible click as with the category of blue and up. Since the reds are the lightest linear switches, you will typically hear a 'click' as you bottom the keys out, but this has nothing to do with the key mechanism.
The linear switches I think are the most misunderstood and maligned of the Cherry types, especially for people who got into mechanical keyboards because they liked the clicky feedback. I started with an IBM Model M (1391401) with buckling springs so I can definitely understand the desire for this click, but currently my favorite setup is probably MX reds with red 40A-L o-rings to dampen the sound of bottoming out, as well as shorten the travel distance. Since I type heavily, I will press the keys as far as they'll go anyway, so it helps to have a short throw. Meanwhile, MX blacks are heavy enough to tire my fingers out, and the only place for a grey switch is on the spacebar of a keyboard with blacks, for example.
This preference is hardest to explain. Usually you only have to show people the nice crispy click or whatever, and they see the point. But why reds, especially with o-rings? Now to some people it just seems mushy again like their shitty cheap keyboard was. I have used this setup for twitchy FPS gaming and for competitive typing (as well as all day at work) and I love it for both. Even though there is no tactile feedback, the behavior of the mechanism is still extremely consistent and reliable and can be expected to remain so for many millions of keystrokes. There is no sense of imbalance or stumbling in my fingers when typing on it, the keys always do precisely what I intended them to do when I intended them to do it. I have some bad memories of shitty keyboards where the keys stick for the briefest moment and fuck up my rhythm and all these little things like that. The lack of the tactile click/bump seems to allow me to 'flow' better in fast typing. There is no need to release the key all the way up past the tactile bump to reset; this allows, to me, easier and faster striking of double letters. This also makes using the WASD (or rather ESDF) in games a lot better. It seems like I can tap-release-tap or change direction that much faster and easier, or generally have a better sense of fine control.
I wasn't really sure about the point of a linear switch either, but I was lucky enough to come across a keyboard with MX blacks at an electronics recycling place I used to work at, so I got to try it out and see why people bother. Maybe nobody can really be convinced about this until they try it out for gaming or speed typing or whatever they get up to.
Animated GIFs of switches:
http://www.keyboardco.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Blue.gif
Here you can see the white bit being snapped down past the resistance of that metal clip on the left, producing the simultaneous tactile resistance and audible click of the mechanism.
http://www.keyboardco.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Brown.gif
Here you can see a similar action but without the separate piece that snaps down -- here we only overcome the resistance of the metal clip, producing the tactile resistance bump but with no extra audible click induced by the key mechanism. You can make about as much noise if you press the keys all the way down, however.
http://www.keyboardco.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Red.gif
Here we can see that there isn't a bump that we have to get past the metal piece. There is only the smooth travel and the increasing resistance of the spring.

2016-12-02 at 5:32 PM UTC in do they just let you see psycholgistsI think it just depends on your insurance. You can go wherever you want but insurance might require a referral to cover specialists. So they're the ones to ask. If you're like me and you're never sure exactly what all your benefits are, it might also be worth checking if you have access to therapy or counseling outside of your medical. I'm not sure what it is but sometimes I have a separate thing that says I can call and chat up a shrink four times a year or something like that.

2016-12-02 at 9:49 AM UTC in Tips for living in your carI didn't have time to watch the videos yet but I found it useful to park at a free wireless network. Public libraries were great for this. Nobody comes by to find out why some jerk is parked all day at some weird corner of the building that has the best signal. Between that and a supply of cigarettes I managed to occupy myself all day when I had no choice but to wait in my car. I wasn't entirely homeless but I had nowhere to go for significant chunks of the day. Close enough.
Something tells me that eight minutes of video about where to park your car while living in it is overthinking somewhat, but I have to find out later. -
