there is a hillside over the ocean where there is this concrete-like sewer cover you pull up and have to slide down into it, there is a ladder (of sort) made out of rebar. My Late Brother and Late cousin showed me this back around 1979-1980 when i was like 13. near lands end.
they kept telling me to come with them or be left behind. but no big deal. because being left behind meant being left behind the entrance and existence. so I went down a few corridor hallways and then refused to go any further. they left me and I climbed back out and looked at the ocean for about 2 hours until they came back soaking wet and shivering. they never told me why they were soaking wet and were very scared to say anything at all. it wasn't sweating because it was really really fucking cold in there. maybe there was a pond or something they fell into. they smelled like seaweed and the beach.
On the other side of the City in Hunters Point there is this old Castle built in 1870s where the spring I was talking about exist. this guy wants a permit to bottle the water.
it's pretty cool that they built a real small castle in San Francisco in the 1800s using the local granite rock but again, there are natural springs with natural tunnels as well as hand-carved tunnels going back even before Anglos showed up.
People didn't know that the North had sent Soldiers to build a Fort in San Francisco in case the USA was invaded during the civil war by Spain or other Countries in Europe.
There is a civil war era Armory in the Mission District across town and Fort Point at the mouth of the Golden Gate. they even constructed an Arch onto the GG Bridge in 1947 to protect the Fort after deciding to keep it as a museum. but yeah, there just might be a real underground city
