   was reading a story about a Japanese filming company "Toho Company" threaten Warner Brothers with a lawsuit for not getting a fair cut for Godzilla 2014 film (The one that had Bryan Cranston in it) that they pulled in from streaming rights in the USA.
   
   apparently the counter is that Toho blatenly stole their 'Godzilla' from Ray Bradbury's short story "The Fog Horn" and the film based on that called "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms".
   
   I guess the copyright on The Fog Horn ended while Godzilla is still a trademark and copyright product.
   
   so If I create a type of Micky Mouse and Disney picked it up and ripped me off streaming rights I could use them even though Walt Disney first created Micky Mouse and now that the copyright and trademark ran out I can now collect on it?
   
   also I don't think " The Fog Horn" is 100 years old. more like 75.

    You ever read the novel or watch the movie? Brett Easton Ellis wrote it. I listen to the audio book but the movie was pretty close. I still have a hard time understanding the ending. Like did he imagine everything or not. Wont ruin it for you

    I'v been in a flood in California and nearly got swept away in my car before being able to back up and turn around. its pretty wild when roads get washed out, especially windy ones going up/down steep hills.
    
    it doesn't rain as much as I hear in the Midwest but we have dry clay and so even 4-5 inches downpour will flood a dry or low line river with 30 feet of water from the steep hills it drains off of.
