   Well yeah. I didn't start out with heroin or needles, it took years to get to that point, and I'd say declining into homelessness was definitely progressive dysfunction. I've been using drugs since I was 14, and it got more and more extreme through the years. I don't buy into the 12-step approach, though. Doesn't work for me, and the whole "I'm powerless," and "If left to my own devices, it's only a matter of time," just become self-fulfilling prophecies.

   I've been having dreams lately about girls I used to talk to and/or be attracted to romantically. One of them I haven't even talked to since I was a teenager, and she's married now I think, or at least engaged. The other I used to be obsessed with in middle school, but ever since then we've been good friends. I haven't seen her in person in more than a few years, and I still think from time to time how she'd be wife material because she's actually really smart. We were in gifted classes together and went through junkieism around the same time and sometimes used together, though my druggie years lasted longer than hers and got a lot worse. But anyway she's really pretty and smart and funny, but I accepted a long time ago that we're just close friends and haven't spent much time thinking about her as more than that in yearssss, so it was weird to have a dream about her where we popkissed on the mouth and I called her babe. And she's engaged anyway. I think I'm lonely or something. Fuck it. People suck.

   It gets really fucking old eventually. Consequences aren't worth it anymore, or the high even. Plus, I'm 26 now and was homeless for a while. Time to grow up and move on.

    Uneventful and boring. I should've went out looking for a job. But I didn't feel like it because I had to walk an hour to my substance abuse group counseling bullshit for probation yesterday.
