What is this? See that's why the government needs these corporations. If Twitter was nationalized it would be illegal for them to censor anything. And a logical part of that is open source algorithms. They hide behind a frontman/corporations to do things that would be illegal otherwise. That goes for violating international treaties as well as the bill of rights.
