I don't know why, it doesn't make any sense.
the two situations aren't even remotely similar. after WWII the US was left with the only functional industrial base in the world and as a result, was able to dictate the terms of the world economy up until now - they were able to dominate both militarily (through industrial production of weapons) and economically (through detaching the USD from gold, making it the sole reserve currency and financialising to the degree that debt can effectively be resold to other states). this is in stark contrast to the state Germany was in going into WWII, almost the exact opposite - they had literally nothing BUT a crippled industrial base that Hitler was trying to reinvigorate.
if the US goes to war anytime soon, it will be a result of their loss of control of the international financial system and their inability to compete in terms of industrial productivity WITHOUT access to the 'economic force multipliers' they currently rely on. it will not be a ground war like in Europe, it'll be an exchange of long-range weapons (nuclear weapons, ICBMs, airstrikes via naval power projection etc.) that'll be more akin to a sprint than a marathon. there won't be time for a real 'war economy' before real industry gets switched off; the US, Russia and China are on different land masses that can't just march on each other. -
