Nope, just plain "yes".1 - the fact that these corps' shares are publicly traded means these corps are PUBLICLY OWNED. being publicly owned isnt the same as being a public utility and i didnt say they are.
Wrong and I'm not going to explain it again to you.2 - and not all of their shares belong to private citizens. State pension funds (which i'm sure belongs to the public) for example, could also own their shares.
That doesn't making it a public utility either.your confusing private vehicles with public transports. theyre apples and bananas.
No I already separated them and also explained the difference to you so you wouldn't have a hard time understanding anda honda isnt a public utility. a greyhound is. learn the difference.
I already explained this to you.they all already are. at least it is over here. in order to sign up to facebook, a valid proof of id is required, such as a phone number or gmail. and one cant get a phone number without providing the telcos with a valid government issued ID.
Private sector businesses are allowed to do that and they still aren't public sector so that's still besides the point: I'm asking whether you would like for your government to open a public sector option.and people go to jail all the time for things they say AND LIKED on social media.
You understand that you can do something illegal via a social media site right? -

They're not "like" private businesses. They ARE private businesses. They enjoy Section 230, which provides them immunity from lawsuits when not acting as a publisher (which they are). The deal was they were to be an open public platform, where anyone can post freely.
Doesn't make a difference.

Originally posted by vindicktive vinny 1 - theyre publicly traded, ie, their operational fundings came from the public.
No, publicly traded doesn't mean public sector. It means their shares are available for purchase (and trade) to the general public. Those shares are privately owned by whoever purchases them.even if theyre not, their importance and ubiquity to society has made them on par as utilities.
No it hasn't, and being ubiquitous or even important doesn't mean something should be a public utility, for example you don't have any constitutional right to a car or public transport.
Some areas might provide some form of public transportation as a municipal decision but that would just mean some form of public sector option is provided. Your local Honda dealership could refuse to sell you a car for being too loud and rude if they felt like it for example.
Would you like some form of public sector social media site run by your government, where you need to sign up with your legal identification documents and only illegal content results in punitive action? -
