    you just hold the handbrake until you feel the gears biting, then let of handbrake and you're off. manuals are the norm here. automatics are kinda rare. maybe not rare but you dont get em a lot.

    You just don't get it. You will be buying a new clutch and new brakes driving up and down such a steep grade. You can do it.. and you will probably start off like that but there is that fine balance of barely holding the clutch in and foot on gas just to hold it so you don't roll backwards.
