The "obvious" gut answer is that modern archaeologists are big weenies who consider that kind of thing "unethical", and would probably argue that the restoration would mean the destruction of history, but really... why not? Why not make the colosseum in Rome look like it did ~2000 years ago?

exactly. preserving it's core literally and value wise.
maybe core out the internal structure as well and turn it into a hotel or storage pod for seeds and such in case of a world ending event like they store in the arctics -

Even if all this ancient alien stuff isn't real, it's still fun to imagine that it is, and that humanity has been influenced and helped by extraterrestrials.

I bought into that Ra theory being in both Egypt and Mexico but it turned out the Father (Priest) had not faked a artifact but was becoming senile and confused an Egyptian tourist trinket he purchased and then found it and thought it was when he visited one of the step pyramids in Mexico or central america (because I guess he was also an archaeologist
there is 0 connection between the pyramids of the world. they're not built by the same people or aliens. but something is happening. the Government just wont be fully transparent about it. did Aliens truly survive a UFO crash and held at a government base or not. the "Egg" craft sounds a lot like the Tick Tack craft spotted off the coast.
I used to be into this shit. It was one of the reasons I hung out on totse when I found it from a magazine during dialup
UFO and Conspiracies were fun to read about. to this day.. not an official admittance by our Government and it just will never happen.
