The government, however, has said the bill does not ban end-to-end encryption.
Instead it will require companies to take action to stop child abuse on their platforms and as a last resort develop technology to scan encrypted messages, it has said.
the encryption bit is interesting, either they're being sneaky and saying 'we're NOT banning encryption but we ARE introducing a rule that makes it impossible' or they're just retarded and don't understand how it works.

they don't want to explicitly ban end to end encryption like on messengers, but they want the provider to be able to decrypt them if requested
given the way that messengers like whatsapp, facebook etc. work in practice they're likely compelling the provider to generate and retain private keys instead of allowing the end users to keep them private.
which defeats the purpose of end to end encryption; there's literally no reason to use it in place of server-side encryption if the provider has the keys

I've done that AI age estimation and it said I look 18. People who look under 25 have to give ID. It means people can't watch porn anonymously anymore.

I don't see that age estimation thing ever taking off now that more people have access to Botox and better skincare treatments. There's already a shift in what people at a certain age should look like.

if they have the power to scan encrypted messages it goes without saying that theyre not just going to stop with child porn, theyre not going to stop anywhere especially coupled with "AI" which can harness a lot of data from insider trading to voting pattern and political leaning,
its going to be literally 1984 except with better graphics and special effects.
child pornography is just a convenient excuse in which they have tucked everything else into.
child porn is freedom porn, and if they could bar us from being able to access, possess, transfer or generate child porn, then they could bar us from anything they dont want us to have access to using generic, cookie cutter excuses that they use to bar our access to child pornography.
every reason you can think of to ban child pornography can be used to ban ... free speeches.

Yeah I’m not a lawyer but it looks like they’ve effectively banned end-to-end encryption by making it an offence for a service provider to provide encrypted data to OFCOM in response to a request for user information. Under Chapter 4
