The cultural and economic capitals of the US are new york and california, people who resent them are typically disenfranchised, often agrarian, lower classes from the rest of the country. The other class is the pacific north-west's superiority complex which is somewhat justified, but you have to actually be from there to fall into that group. Chicago is one of our major cities but people kinda forget about it because it's surrounded by nothing and it's kind of struggled in the post-manufacturing US to retain its status.
The idea that our urban centers are some kind of liberal fairyland is a bit silly. California is a blue state because of our hispanic population, LA and SV are brimming over with conservatives and crypto-libertarians. New york has wall street which is famously one tone and classically conservative. Even the famously liberal SF is a banking/financial capital, which is an industry rivaled only by oil for an ideological opposition to regulation.

Well for one, gun laws, those are liberal. Also i don't use "liberal" and "people i don't like" interchangeably. Of course i know SF and NYC are important economic cities, but as far as i am aware the general populace or at least the government, which is supposed to be elected by the populace, is left leaning, this is reflected in local legislation.

Of course there is diversity of ideologies that doesn't invalidate the fact that generally, SF and NYC are left leaning.

San Francisco is changing Conservative really fast. I don't know where the snowflakes are heading too.. Berkeley still but San Francisco is feeling more and more like a mini NYC with shitloads of money that doesn't buy shit. over face valued homes. Once the big quake hits here, Lanny.. all these transplants will go back to florida or Colorado or Texas and leave a huge surplus in real estate. only diehard Cali's will ride out a quake or die in it.. and have their families pickup their lives -

I wasn't involved in the coupon thing as the time, I think I was a mod back then but I was on the outer circle of zoklet administration so I didn't really hear anything about it beyond no more coupons allowed. Which is understandable since I think we had confirmation zok actually had a gag order on that one.
It's wierd that you have this dirt farming peasant mentality when you've never even been to the US
I didn't see this earlier Lanny. The person involved was in a story which brought up vice.com and that page or a link said your name.. I mean it said "Lanny".. it could be another lanny. but you were a Mod using that name at zok or even totse? -
