It's not just the Chinese. Any major crime group that can get chemicals is making this because it's very easy. I'm a retard and I think I could manage to get the precursors and make it.
There's a reason it's such a wildly publicized drug because any criminal group worth their salt is either importing it or making it. High demand insane margins, big pharma has been raking it in for years.
Suddenly people are realizing there is a lot of money in taking the leftovers of industrial manufacturing and turning it into strong opiates. It went from Beavis and butthead everyone in America cooking meth into "making drugs is hard let's just break into cars and get fucked up"
This is what happens with unjust regulations you turn an entire generation into degenerates. At least mom and pop meth cooks did more than just get high, they made history. The only thing you hear about fentanyl is people dying. No more cowboy chemistry days of fighting the DEA and secret chemical police now it's just some kid that ODs and everyone is sad
