Never did he state that only three wishes could be granted. If you annoyed him with more wishes from original wishes and he struck at you, he would be pulled back into the bottle for eternity.
He was cursed to some prison time and if he had been a repeated offender he would be bottled for life and he knew this -

That's just your headcanon and it is contrary to the original story (and properties of Djinni) as related in the Holy Quran. -
