So I have been studying music theory

2022-03-13 at 10:21 AM UTCI figure if I ever want to know how to make songs like Skinny Puppy I'll need to know some basics such as chord progressions, scales and notation.
I haven't been studying too much but I actually know a lot more now than I did in the past.
Here is what I made in LMMS recently

one of my friends said it sounds like a broken down arcade machine
Once I have a grasp on the basic concepts of theory I'm going to use that knowledge to make Skinny Puppy style electro-industrial with anime samples and lots of noise. -

2022-03-13 at 1:09 PM UTCI took music theory in high-school and took one class in college for it
It helped my playing a bit but I already played by ear and used a lot of theory just by using my ear, but it really helped me connect what I was playing and have a better understanding of theory. It helped me connect different scales and find related ones -

2022-04-18 at 5 PM UTCPentatonic scales all day. Along with some minor/major scales...all you really need imo. But I'm far from a perfectionist guitar player....just went through periods over the last 15 years where I'd focus and really work on it.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

This dude knows what he's talking about.
When I look at my bass or guitars neck I see squares that connect notes in scale...mostly pentatonic...just from practicing and playing in bands forever -
