interesting recount of the major Azov surrender. turns out they were close to starving but had no problems with water supply - they were able to tap 'technical water', presumably coolant or something for facility machinery.
In Ukraine I noticed they call tap water "technical water", everyone gives out to me for drinking it. In Kyiv they all buy bottled water over there, even the poor. I can understand, and it kinda makes sense when Chernobyl is upstream on the river you get you get your water supply from.
In a village I found a water well, still in use, where you haul up the water with a bucket on a chain. -
