This map is beautiful. Is it possible that the Ukrainian army guys who were stationed in the east weren't moved at all, so are now going to be encircled? Major loss if so. That's not exactly how you win a war, getting kesseled, like the Germans at Stalingrad.

It seems there have been more outward movement of separatists from luhansk, likely to encircle Kharkiv, while other regiments move along the coast to pincher marioupol in conjunction with the south eastern front coming from Crimea.
Yeahcfrom that map it definitely looks like another debaltsevo cauldron situation is inevitable unless they fall back pretty far

The world's largest plane was a one-off Soviet transport. It was based in the airfield North West of Kiev that the Russians took early on, and it was destroyed during the fighting (I don't know why). It's a shame. Apparently it was in demand for special loads, some things too heavy to be quickly transported any other way, especially oil and gas and other energy related equipment. I also hope the various military and aircraft museums in Ukraine haven't been damaged. I wonder if they're getting some of the old tanks and other kit there back into service.

Dam that's too bad. Sorta like a functional spruce moose. Antonovs have alot of problems and I can't see that actually being used. I guess it was destroyed because it was a symbol.

It was built during the 80s, so reaching the end of its life. A lot of old soviet stuff has been destroyed in this war.
