my view is that its another one of those expensive toys supplied by the US to keyyev with no real useful purpose at the expenses of US tax payers.
present and future tax payers. -

it's the case for a lot of the gear they send, but they actually appear to be using it given how much data is on display. No idea how up to date or complete it is of course.
they actually ran press conferences a few months back, showing off that they were way more high-tech than the Donbabweans, which is why the system was targeted in the first place -

just because the AFU is using it doesnt mean its effective or useable. AFU used a lot of NATO supplied arms like javeline anti tanks but we all know theyre not reliable nor effective as advertised.
delta could be another one of those things. highly publicised like HIMARS, yes, but useable and up to date ?
i dont think so. -
2022-11-01 at 4:23 PM UTCedit : bottom line, if it works, the russians would keep it a secret while they keep leeching valuable intels from compromised ukrainian system.
the fact that they show it to the world to score PR point means that the system is absolute garbage and useless from tactical and strategic standpoint. -
2022-11-01 at 4:29 PM UTCOh yeah, I have no idea given how little I can find about the software. I mean it appears that it's being actively used, so if it's been hacked it's actually a very serious data leak. If they're forced to stop using it it's even worse because they need to rely on something else for planning and co-ordination.
On the topic of HIMARS, turns out a large majority of their projectiles get shot down by PANTSIR's cheap anti-drone munitions; for all the talk of it being an 'advanced weapons system' the missiles it uses are still ballistic and relatively slow.
When I first heard about HIMARS I looked at the stats and couldn't work out why they were being talked up so much, considering Ukraine already had SMERCH launchers with bigger missiles, bigger salvos and roughly the same range. The benefit comes from the fact that they're significantly more mobile - they're much lighter and faster, and they're able to prepare, fire and move again much faster than older MLRS complexes. There's nothing special about the munitions it uses (even the ATACMS is on par with old TOCHKA TBMs), it's just much less vulnerable to tracking and counterbattery fire, increasing survivability. -

the guy who supposedly hacked it isn't Russian military, he's a civilian in the Donbass and part of the KILLNET group -

well if you want "americans" to fork out their hard earned money for something your gonna have to tell them its the best money can buy or else they might hesitate, -

i mean if hes smart enough to hack it he surely is smart enough to know whats good for russia and their SMO assuming he, LDNR and russia share the same goal.
why didnt he gave what he found to the FSB assuming he hadnt. -

they're small grenades, usually kill from fragments causing bleeding rather than the actual explosion. dunno why they wasted so many on that one guy though, they really had it in for him -

TOS-1A is terrifying
shorter range than standard rocket/artillery because of the massive thermobaric rockets but guaranteed to ruin your day -

Even a grenade would have blown them to bits. Those were nothing more than smoke bombs, and they didn't even cut it as an actual smoke bomb. It's all fake, folks. It's all just a giant Hollywood production. None of it is real.
