Nordic culture, and Northern European culture in general, is among the most boring on earth. Most people don't realize this if they haven't spent considerable time outside the country, particularly in the US.

Yeah boring as fuck. All the best intellectuals came from Europe. Philosophers and scientists. Ever heard about this thing called the enlightenment?

    Good lord that is vile.

How do you eat them? Surely you don't slurp them down like fresh oysters? I like oysters too, everything but mussels.

No it's a manmanship thing. Canned oysters are best consumed while camping or sitting around a fire, or during small intermissions while you're chopping down a tree with your bare hands.

Keen transatlantic social observation for someone who has, if I'm not mistaken, never left the state of California. Is this perhaps an opinion you heard somewhere and between your love of contrarian positions and delight at tearing down what you think is perceived by liberals to be a utopia, have uncritically adopted to now repeat for us at intervals?

in what way can a culture be considered 'boring', or, not interesting / tedious? a culture isn't a movie or a video game.

i think you'd have to be an idiot to put that sentence together. there's no way to explain the use of boring to describe a culture that doesn't mark you as mentally deficient.

Could not agree more. I spent a good while in India and holy shit it makes me rage inside when I hear people here (US) talk about how they're Irish or .08% Blackfoot. Such dumb meaningless shit. If your culture or ethnicity does not have good food and good stories, I don't wanna hear about it.

I haven't spent too much time in Europe but from what I can gather, it's all pretty homogeneous. I mean, I drive further to my Mom's house than you could ever drive trying to get anywhere in Western Europe.

They've been polled and by their own admission, which is not wholly explained by any sense of reservation, this is how they view themselves!

It was mentioned in this book, IIRC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Almost_Nearly_Perfect_People
Truth is, practically nothing fucking happens there and the cost of living is so high, and this is proven by comparative data on how often the average person/worker eats out, that there's nothing to fucking do with most people, which is part of why the concept of "hygge", the emphasis on warm and cozy (at home) feelings, developed such importance.

They're closer to domesticated animals, human apes bred for complacency towards statism.

I recall coming across this a while ago. It's interesting how consistent this view is and how native citizens attempt to rationalize it: https://www.google.com/search?q=sweden+most+boring+site:www.thelocal.se&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjE6ZGDx_jRAhVT1WMKHTALB7wQrQIIOCgDMAM&biw=1366&bih=662
