That's because most employers suck, nobody wants to work for them. It's hard finding something you enjoy.
That's what happens when you make things illegal people just give up and idle until the system crashes and burns like with soviet russia you think any of them gave a shit? They all just wanted to eat and drink at the end of the day and fuck
nobody wants their boss to call them while they are at home asking if they wanna work extra hours unless you are some stiff in the mud no life with no girlfriend
Work was a bitch to find during the Reagan years. basic bitch warehouse work as well
I was lucky I was in the Commercial Food and Retail Union (which hardly exist today with 10 percent of the union members left)
I'm gonna tell you this now. Dont say "OK Grandpa" because anyone in my age group would tell you its true.
even dudes with B.A. or B.S. would tell you they made less then 20 percent over minimum wage if they were managing a store or even a fast food. now there were hardly any lower end tech jobs in Silicon Valley except maybe the assembly line at SEAGATE assembling HDD. I think they started in Palo Alto not Silicon Valley which is still 10 miles farther south. but now Seagate is in Fremont next door to the Tesla plant (not their main one as I thought, but like the second largest or largest actual dealership. or working at Compaq, HP, Dell etc all those places were maybe 9-13 an hour working on an assembly line or boxing new PCs
I was gonna take a photo of me while dropping off some car parts to Tesla auto garage in the building. Someone from up the street to me at Tesla on Gilman used door dash to deliver a fucking car part. This has happened once before and I took it. then I got a call again that same week, I roll up to ask that he wrap some extra bubble wrap to keep any oil off my carpet in the hatchback but as I rolled up, Tesla used door dash for me to pick up a rider. because I guess it was cheaper through their corproate account (which doordash discounts no doubt). its cheaper than uber.
I was like "No way, I dont have insurance for a human through door dash"
and he reminded me that he drove for door dash and that door dash doesn't have an insurance like uber and lyft does. LOL
I still wouldnt take the person. FUCK THAT NOISE
