The neighborhood was full of old 1950-60 3 and 2 ranchhomes on quarter-acre lots. not very upscale looking. however, they suddenly jumped in value from about 350k-500k around 2008 after the bank fiasco to that of around 3-4 million each. not for the homes but the land. I wish I had invested in a house had I had a crystal ball.
there is a kaiser up the road and mainly Indian people moved in those areas as maybe first time home buyers (not just because they were first-generation but the houses were starter homes for families) turned fucking rich overnight because they probably did their research or even inputted on a "Great location" for the future site. if I would get dragged down into that area from San Francisco (which was a good thing, usually 100 dollar ride) I would hang out near Kaiser just up the street.
however, I haven't been down there since they were just finishing the building. I didn't get a good look at it, but one spot. it didn't look as big as I thought it would be. but I picked up a neighbor and they were boasting on and on how rich they were going to get because they had 3 buyers lined up before they had even put the for-sale sign on the house. I kept congratulating them and didn't have to pick their minds because they were just so excited they were going to leave California and move to Texas and buy a big ass mansion. -
