Im saying that the Cascade Mountain range starts at northern California and cuts all the way up into the "Great White North" of Western Canada.
from Alaska down into British Columbia all the way down to south of Mt Shasta California is it's own region.
BC is west coast people. they're no doubt different in their lifestyle than say people from Edmonton or Toronto, Ottawa region and Montreal.
they're no different than people from Portland Oregon. before Passports were mandated after 9/11/01 in Canada, people moved freely from Washington State to BC and lived between the two areas. relatives of each other live in the two countries because they may have taken citizenship in Canada prior to 9/11
that's all I am saying.
Also San Francisco has the highest filming permits in the nation. so many things that require to be shot in San Francisco are done in British Columbia because the homes and scenery look the same in many areas. It's cheaper to film in Canada. -

the wealthy and few buying up land or buying the mineral rights. some states like North Dakota require both land and mineral right owners to agree and share the profits. but some states and clearly Canadian laws give more rights to the mineral right owners who then lease to the companies.
You can't live in a home that is built were a pump and pipeline are going in. and the fact it's owned by the Native people in the region just makes it that much more fucked up. Because the mineral rights were most likely sold out from under them. they're supposed to let the land owners know the mineral rights are for sale and they get first dibs on purchasing it. but the sale goes public after a certain period. no doubt, that Letter didn't show up. or maybe they didn't have the money for it and figured nothing of it. -

I think BC particularly was influenced by colonial-era boundaries, which gives modern-day indigenous a more serious legal claim on the area.
Beyond that, Canadian Indigenous policy falls short of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; this gives rise to additional ethical issues regarding Indigenous relations throughout Canada. Additional contention is generated through these policies, since governments were installed to “represent” indigenous populations.
With regards to this pipeline:
1) The installed governments are in support, while tribal elders are against.
2) The ethics of the deprecated indigenous relations legislation are debated.
3) The legitimacy of BC’s land claim is further debated. -

It's exacerbating the container shortage since thousands of containers are just sitting empty. Our exporters can't get their goods into Vancouver. The port is blocked, the parts aren't coming in, the exports aren't going out, and everybody is paying ten times what they used to for shipping. Prices have already shot up and it's only going to get worse. -

Nothing to do with the climate. The real reason is right in the article:
"Diminishing water levels in the two rivers that feed Iraq are partly attributed to numerous dam projects upstream in Turkey and Iran."
And it's not "partly attributed", it's the only reason the rivers are drying up. -
