I mostly use it for things that are not gun related.

It still has the screwdrivers which I use all the time, its nice that it has 2 sizes of them, I especially like the longer one; I have not run into a whole lot of multitools that have a longer dcrew driver like this, most of them are very short and cannot reach into anything. The pliers/wire cutters work well, too.

The MUT does have that bronze copper scraper which is good for scraping carbon foul up off of guns, but I am sure that it could be used for something else as well. It is brittle and breaks easy, and I honestly have not used it more than once. Other than that, the little "firearm disassembly punch" can be used for anything that you need the poke, though I have used it to push out pins. The threaded hole in the tool for a cleaning rod I have never used before.

p.s. it has a pocket clip on it which is nice, as a lot of other multitools do not. It hangs in the pocket such that it can be pulled out and knife opened with one hand as with a traditional folding knife. Great feature imo.

Kizer makes really solid knives for the price, typically S35VN steel unless you get one of the higher end models

I like the Feist for a subtle, classy folder

pretty standard stuff, they seem to be built well enough but the materials and steel are cheap. designs are nothing special but work just fine

if you want to buy American your best bet is probably Spyderco. Zero Tolerance makes some nice stuff but they're significantly more expensive and built for hard use, they don't have many 'compact' models
