   This double sucks because the timing is going to make it seem like I'm doing this for a vaccine passport but I literally could not give less of a fuck about any of the things a vaccine passport is required for, and I do not want to be part of some data set which the government uses to say "see, vaccine passports encouraged vaccinations and are totally justified".

   My understanding is they reduce the likelihood of transmitting it but don't completely eliminate the possibility, neh?

   Even if the effects were really minimal - say, a 20% reduction in infectivity - it still seems like getting vaccinated would be the ethical thing to do if you were going to be around more than a handful of people. I dunno. Kinda second guessing the decision since I can only get Moderna and apparently they're having some issues with contamination right now (at least in Japan, but apparently the same subsidiary or whatever handles all Moderna outside of the US? ). Not inspiring much confidence. What a shit show.

   it reduces the virus' ability to survive in your body; I guess technically you're likely to be infectious for a shorter period but that's about it
