Originally posted by aldra I'm interested to see how it goes here, I've seen reports the virus is significantly more contagious at temperatures below 30 degrees - it's cooling down here, and things will start generally opening soon
Yeah, but these are the exact same imbeciles who said there was no need to worry about any virus, that gatherings were fine, that travel to and from China was peachy keen alright, that nobody needed to wear and masks or gloves at all, that two million people would die, etc, etc, etc. These clowns have ZERO credibility. They don't know shit. -

Originally posted by Technologist Well most of the country is starting to open, or have already started opening in phases. I’ve agreed with Gov. DeWine on most things, but I think it’s a bit soon, we shall see in about 3-4 weeks.
Here’s my question though: if most people are gonna stay home anyway, how are our small businesses gonna do with a very low consumerism? Most of our restaurants have to open at 1/4 the occupancy, how will they make enough to stay afloat?
Don’t think the small business loans are gonna help, that was a fiasco.
I’m sad for our small business owners. Opening now may not be the answer🤷♀️
I think it will boil down to the type of business. Like, restaurants have a lot of overhead, so they will see a big hit, but places like, say, my local record shop 'Vintage Vinyl' only have 1 staff member (the owner), negligible cost involved in product because he has sheds full of things on on the shelf yet, and minimal rent because he's part owner of the building he's in.
It's really unfortunate because either way they're fucked. -

He was on something last night, I think. If not, he’s gonna need to reel that shit in. He enjoys forcing himself on woman who obviously do not want him around. If someone doesn’t want me around, I don’t want to be around them. I certainly don’t force it. -

I agree, we better write this down Angry.😁 -
2020-05-12 at 10:53 AM UTCLocal restaurants that were worth a fuck here are surviving as they're good enough to thrive off take-out & smart enough to limit staff etc. The ones' that closed are the mediocre to shitty tourist trap types, that had no tourists to prey upon. Poetic justice if you ask me lol.

That sounds about right. I patronized my favorite Vietnamese eatery next to my job, as much as I could. I wish I had the money to patronize all my little places like that. -

2020-05-12 at 11:12 AM UTCYa’ll think I’m a democrat because I think trump is a lunatic. I think our governor, who is republican, is doing a good job. Does that make me republican?
I’m an independent, just like your senator. -
