Some of them do wear smocks though.

A few months ago I made a thread about how I just wanted an easy job working at a grocery store and you all called me retarded and told me to get a 'real job' well if I would have followed that dream of mine I would be a fucking hero right now and everyone would love me.

YOU WERE ALL WRONG. I'M GOING TO FOLLOW MY DREAMS AND SAVE THE CITY

So...no police, doctors, nurses, firefighters, soldiers are heroes?

    They all get paychecks.

Correct. Doing your job isn't heroic..it's doing your job.

What about those who exceed the expectations of their job?

There is always a point where you have to decide for yourself...do I go into this particular fire or would I be smarter to not?

Therein lies the difference between a hero and someone just doing their job.

There are those people who just show up for the paycheck in life and those who go way beyond expectations. You can't tell me that these people aren't heroes.

Yes depending on the circumstances those could be heroes.

But again doing your job expectations...being a nurse, being a soldier, being a cop, being a firefighter...isn't by default being heroic...it's doing your job. Every job has an element of risk...Fishing is one of the deadliest job for example...do you clap the fucking fishermen when you're selling your ass down by the dock?
