that would make sense but mechanics usually charge over $40 an hour so idk why this would be attractive to him if he is getting paid this way. If he was a typical mechanic he would probly get a standard hourly rate but the cheapest mechanic I've ever even heard of charges $50 an hour -

Hell if I had something pop up right now that paid $40 an hour for minimal effort, and it worked around my other job’s hours, I’d fuckin do it. I already make $120k a year, but an extra 5 or 6k a month for 3 months doesn’t sound like a bad deal.
I’m always trying to get my money up -

I used to valet cars a lot of years ago and it worked the same way. The company I worked for had a contract to handle parking for a certain business for something like 15k a month, but the whole operation was run by 5 or 6 kids making minimum wage.
So I imagine the place OP works at would actually be saving money paying him $40 an hour for 8 hours a night vs signing an expensive contract with a real security company. Just cut out the middleman
this was one of the only post that was tl/dr.. op is fronting and you're whyte nighting for him.. why would he ask a question like that on a board mostly full of people that have no jobs, its power play at its lamest, try harder idiot. -

You are dumb. shops that have an actual shop and not some guys garage are going to charge way more, like $90+ an hr) they pay the mechanic by "book hour" and most around here make abour 20 an hour if you are good and dont fuck shit up.
If a job calls for 4 hours in the book and he finishes it in 2 hours, he gets paid for 4 hours. Book time is for retards so a person with any competency can usually do it in half of what the book calls for. thats how mechanics make decent money if you aren't a slow fatass fag -
2020-03-25 at 4:01 AM UTCEveryone calls is something different. In my profession we call it SRT (Standard Repair Time). I know guys that work 40 but get paid for 80.

No. That kind of work is for the spics. I’m involved in transmission and distribution infrastructure. Won’t say more than that -

just trying to figure what an "accessory" to energy is.🤷🏻♀️
It was a reference to King of the Hill’s eponymous “Hank Hill”, whose job is to sell Propane and Propane accessories.
I’m in the energy sector. I don’t like to say more than that because not a lot of people do what I do specifically. It can be used to identify me -

2020-03-25 at 6:56 AM UTCI used to be a security guard.
It's really shitty, and virtually no one will respect you, but it is pretty easy for the most part.
Right out of high school, I had three options:
1. Manual labor.
2. Customer/food/retail service.
3. Security guard.
I tried the first two, but didn't much care for them, so I went with the last (legal, at least) option.
Around these parts, though, it's a minimum wage job. If it paid $40 an hour, I'd have just swallowed my pride and kept going... Maybe work my way up to some kind of security supervisor.
It would suck compared to my current ambitions, but it would have at least paid the bills and not been physically exhausting.
