I don't see why this is so hard to believe. Homosexuality isn't detrimental to the survival of your genes unless an organism is engaging in it exclusively. Nothing wrong with it as long as you're still willing/able to make babies.

It's not purely genetic. Hormones can be affected by diet and lifestyle or even climate.
Very simply, look at iodine. It is required for the development of the CNS. Low iodine is a problem for the fetus. This has nothing to do with genetics. That fetus is fucked up because it lacked sufficient iodine at the appropriate time.

Submissive/dominant behaviour is determined by hormones and other social factors. For example, you could have a guy who is naturally large and muscular with high testosterone and good looking. Some unnatural behaviour could lead to him becoming apprehensive via conditioning from some little shit stick who is socially aggressive and egrarious.
