The caste system has long been abolished, and i dont think it was necessarily racist.
But lord do they hate black people. People have gotten publicly beat by mobs for absolutely no reason. -

edit : how is it not racist ?
Because it was based more on family name than race. The bakers stay bakers, the morticians stay morticians, the kings stay kings, etc. You're stuck into what caste/family you're born into. There were wealthy families who were darker skinned, and poorer families who were lighter skinned.
The racism is seperate. They're racist, yes, but the caste system isn't. Not that its morally any better than being racist, it's just that skin color had nothing to do with it.
Though, in the past light skin meant you were probably wealthy since you didn't have to be outside all the time. Which is why 15th and 16th century European men used to wear makeup to appear more pale than they were. -

please consult wikipedia.
caste system was/is based strictly on skin colors.
their skin colors determine their role in society, not vice versa. -

2019-09-11 at 6:10 PM UTCI still can't see how Indian people descended from Romanians.. besides, wouldn't it be the other way around? We all came from Africa.. lineage would be Africa. India, turkey, Russia, Romania?

There was actually a large migration from Europe back into Africa and also into Asia.
The idea of ethnicity is a farce. We have always intermingled. -

Actually not.. black people are from a different planet than whytes and Asians are actually from mars. Most people didn't originate on Earth. Whyte people are from the moon. -
