    depends on which app.

    for google map its obvious that it needs to get your precise location down to within a few feets for it to be useful, otherwise it'll be leading people into drains.

    for browser maybe just the vincinity to show you more or less accurate weather datas.

    So on an iPad, how would I turn off the api for it tracking me via its gps that is I guess in-built into the iPad?

    on mozilla it sometimes asks if you like to share your location data with websites, which you can decline.

    google will always use your ip geolocation to feed you weather infos. if you whois your own ip and its location its going to be the same place that google uses to tell you about your weathers.

    So the location you share is the vpn locarion and not your actual one? Can theys till find a baxkdoor to snoop on you? Say if they had a warrant from the fbi to do it would it be posisble? I know on tor it isnt withiut you enabling some javascript wnd donwloading a plugin or something.
