Look, do you really think Lanny will have the balls, or should have the balls to remove a canary? I doubt it.
Here is an infinitely better way to canary that WILL NOT fuck you up in court.
Every month, or week, or day, or whatever issue a statement saying "Niggasin.space has NOT recieved a subpoena from any government agency".
Week 2 report: "Niggasin.space has NOT recieved a subpoena from any government agency".
*Subpoena*
Week 3: *Silence*
This way you can absolutely not get canned for interfering with a gag order. They cannot force you to continue to post something that would then be a lie.

i mean you need to get the actual law and look at the language used.

I don't trust Lanny as far as I can throw him *insert fat joke*

I don't think you understand American law. Lanny has a canary now, so that wouldn't change anything for him to continue to post a canary. It's not illegal to post a canary but it may be illegal to remove one after being subpoena'd. However, nobody can force you to lie by forcing you continue to report that you haven't received a notice when you have. Major companies do this.

There's one thing you're all missing: Lanny doesn't care if you get busted, and he has no sympathy whatsoever for those who do, and he would argue he has zero responsibility to offer you all any protections from the fuzz at all.
tl/dr: it's no skin off Lanny's ass if you get busted

If you stop your canary i bet they'd try to hit you with an obstruction charge anyway. However, all of you, should not trust Lanny with your data anyway. Not because he's a bad guy, but every service that has/deals with data you produce is an automatic adversary and you should treat said service as such. You are responsible for your safety/anonymity on the intertubes.

That's not true. They can't force you to post something, but they probably will go after you if you take something down after a sub.

What exactly do you think the feds would be able to find out that isn't already available to them? Your IP address? If you're worried about it, take precautions against it, if you concerned about it, don't. It's that simple. If you aren't doing anything worth government resources then you have nothing to worry about anyway.
