Official GoT Thread

  1. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country Dark Matter [my scoffingly uncritical tinning]
Tyrion is the jedi in GOT.

Short, smart, neurotic, overpriviledged, and completely full of himself.

Game of Thrones more like Gay of Homosex
  3. Octavian motherfucker
So does Jon become the King beyond the wall? Quite fitting really. He can build something there. We should have seen Bran crowned albeit we know he's king. I take it Dani's body was carried to Valyria?

The ending didn't conclude as bad as I thought it would, but something just seemed....missing.

Big Bang Theories ending was more satisfying, I grew to really dislike the unsullied character, fuck that chip on his shoulder.
I was surprised the dwarf wasn’t killed off .
Emelia Clarke has beautiful breasts, we should have seen them one last time.
Sansa inherited the cuntiness of her Aunt that Littlefinger killed off. I feel bad for the bloke that winds up with her.
I can see Bran having a short reign.
A full frontal of Arya and Sansa would have been sweet, but alas nudity took a vacation

Lol the /tv/ leak was right, I can't believe it.

I was OK with the end until the scene after Jon mercing Danny. Bran had no claim on the throne, not even by conquest. He doesn't want it and he's politically brain dead. Everyone laughs at Sam (a great lord and veteran of the last two wars) proposing democracy but the dwarf everyone hates gets up and gives some halfassed speech about cruel sons of kings and the lords of Westeros suddenly come together? And by making him king they give a claim to Sansa's children, the queen of a foreign state (which btw there's no reason to suppose the northern lords would be particularly willing to accept).

And why in the holy hell is Bronn lord of high garden? He points a crossbow in Tyrrion's face a few episodes back and says give it to me? Why does a single person present give a fuck about a promise made by the now imprisoned Tyrrion? They give up the most valuable land in Westeros for no reason at all.

Why is Davos even there lol?

Why do the writers of the show seem to forget Dorne even exists in 90% of the show, and now when they have likely the largest standing army in Westeros and no particular need to be a part of the seven kingdoms, having had special autonomy under Targayen rule, just decide that yeah, sure, northern autist can be king now?

    Fuck the show.

I fucking hated the ending but the defence to these points would be

    That's the point.

He doesn't want it and he's politically brain dead.

"I didn't come all this way to refuse". So he didn't "want" it but he accepts it as his fate. As far as politics is concerned, the implication is basically that he will chill in Warg mode while the council runs the kingdom for the most part, and it's set up as a collaborative effort without the weight of history that seeks to truly unite the six kingdoms as one.

Everyone laughs at Sam (a great lord and veteran of the last two wars) proposing democracy

Sam is deliberately set up here to show how his idealism is way ahead of his time because we the viewers identify with it, but it is just foolish naiveté in universe because Westeros is simply not ready for democracy.

But Tyrion swoops in to show that Sam's way is the way forward

but the dwarf everyone hates gets up and gives some halfassed speech

This bugged me too. "You aren't allowed to speak!... Okay go ahead, deliver your speech."

about cruel sons of kings and the lords of Westeros suddenly come together?

I think this was just shit storytelling on their part. I think what they were going for is that it is a political compromise: all the lords acquiesce to Bran because apparently everyone is aware of his wisdom. I'm also pretty sure part of the reason is that they know Jon has the rightful claim and Bran is the closest surviving male relation I'm pretty sure.

And by making him king they give a claim to Sansa's children, the queen of a foreign state (which btw there's no reason to suppose the northern lords would be particularly willing to accept).

I thought the whole point was that the chain of hereditary kingship was over?

And why in the holy hell is Bronn lord of high garden? He points a crossbow in Tyrrion's face a few episodes back and says give it to me? Why does a single person present give a fuck about a promise made by the now imprisoned Tyrrion? They give up the most valuable land in Westeros for no reason at all.

Agreed, dumb ass decision that was clearly fanservice

Why is Davos even there lol?

I think he's earned his place, no?

They seem to all have gotten acquainted from their places at their stations when Jon joined Dany.

Yeah agreed, this rubbed me the wrong way. I feel like the Ironborn and Dorne would link up and capture Westeros ez.
  8. I still haven’t watched it. I’ll post here when I do.

That final scene between Jon & Dani reminded me of Obi One & Annakin's last talk except the lack of fighting.

Idk. Honestly the show has grown kind of tiresome for me. Stopped feeling organic a few seasons ago. Now its like i can virtually SEE how hard they were going for that Buzzfeed tagline: "MOVE ASIDE BOYS; THIS SEASON GAME OF THRONES IS ALL ABOUT GIRL POWER"
