Idk I feel bad enough about living at home at 30, but then again I had some extenuating circumstances and was a massive fuck up. My feeling is that at this age, I have zero excuse to depend on my parents for anything that wasn't basic necessities. It'd be like someone's mom buying his Starbucks and Newports every day. And you can get a car for 3-4 grand.
I mean you can do whatever, but esp if you've had a "tenuous" relationship with them, it'd probably go a long way to instilling some confidence in you if you either said you appreciated it, and then just bought the car yourself, or gave them payments or something.
