Give me one good reason why I should refer to transgender people by their preferred pronouns

Only if you're going to be using pronouns at all. Like I said, I'm totally okay with just avoiding them entirely.

So to answer the title of the thread: There is no good reason why I should refer to somebody by their preferred pronoun?

Also, is it okay for me to refer to you as a biological male, or do you contest to this fact? What if I want to use a pronoun that is in reference your biological sex rather than your 'gender sex'? Or should I, in the same sentence, say something like "HTS is a biological male and she eats corned beef daily." Gender may be a social construct, but sex is not. Where's the line?

I won't speak for HTS, but I guess my thought on the issue comes down largely to what you mean by "refer to transgender people."

Do you mean online? Do you mean in person? Are they transgender people you know personally or are they strangers?

I'm not attempting to be overly academic here, it's just that the question of how you approach any verbiage is simply going to be highly contingent on the situation you're in and the population you're speaking to -- even if you're just making statements of fact. For example, citing that African Americans make up a disproportionate amount of the crime rate or have way higher rates of illiteracy than their Caucasian counterparts is factual, but that doesn't mean you'd always feel comfortable make that point in discussion to a stranger, at the office, or in a classroom. Similarly, if you have someone close to you that is black and you're speaking in private, you may feel comfortable making the same point.

Moreover, even if being transgender is an dysphoria, it doesn't really cost you anything to entertain that delusion with a stranger simply out of respect for their preference. Moreover, if you maintain a working relationship with somebody and you don't want to complicate it by invoking these greater political ramifications of using their identity as a platform for you to make some kind of speech, you might refer to them as this pronoun just to make your job easier.

Why wouldn’t you? It doesn’t hurt you to call them by their preferred pronouns.

Also, I don’t see how is using new pronouns is any different then using a new name.

Referring to me as "biologically male" is somewhat vague, as in some respects my biology is not characteristic of being male anymore. That said, it is undeniably still sufficiently accurate. This boils down to why you'd say that in the first place? Like, there are very few situations in which that would be how you would naturally refer to me and outside of those very select situations it can only be intended to cause offense. And we roll back to the "is it okay to call you a filthy spic" argument in that case.

Or to put it another way: don't be the guy who says "lol wrestling is fake". Like, okay, it's true - but shut up. Let us enjoy the show.

    You should

I think it reinforces their mental illness

That feeling you get after you call them what they want, and you stare right into their face. They might want you to want them, but you don't welcome their comfort.

But transexuality is very real, and often times very hilarious for you and other parties. But not you of course, because you're nasty.

Often times, they struggle from the moment they wake up. 8magine being met by a whiney anal loving manifestation every morning, a voice that you put off in your early years but now use in Prolapse Masturbation.

Guy in Canada was the first person to be found guilty and convicted today of calling a male homosexual a man. $5,000 fine.

I just saw this thread. My son was talking to me about a transgender he works with. He kept referring to “they”, and I couldn’t follow the story because I kept asking who is “they”?. Then I realized he was using correct pronouns. I would have never known about use of pronouns if I didn’t post here.
  12. I work with a transgender

He dresses like a woman and goes by a woman's name

Thankfully, he's not completely batshit insane, and realizes why he still has to use the men's bathroom, and doesn't make a big fucking deal about it whether he gets called "he" or "she"

I don't know if he's on HRT or not, but he NEVER stops complaining and freaks the hell out over the dumbest shit, but I think that's sleep deprivation combined with the fact that his idiot doctor thinks it's a good idea to have him on both Xanax and Adderall at the same time rather than hormone imbalances

It's disrespectful. It's like seeing some old lady and calling her an old hag. You are not wrong for calling her an old hag but it does make you an asshole.

The only people who think misgendering is cool are toxic people that call blacks niggers and use words like "fag" and "retard". I use those words too but not in public directed towards people because I am not a fucking animal, I am smart enough to treat everyone with a basic level of respect.

I have a transgender friend that looks 100% male and doesn't take hormones but she has long hair and wears girls clothes. I do not see her as a female at all but I still use proper pronouns and I would even if she wasn't my friend.

You are all just toxic middle aged bullies. Get with the times folks
