The writers don’t say the children will kill the parents, but rather they will “rise up against their parents and CAUSE THEM TO BE PUT TO DEATH.”
The children will not do the actual taking of life (though the children will still have the parents’ blood on their hands in the eyes of God Almighty.)
Someone else will do the killing.
Someone other than the children will do the actual killing.
And that is exactly what is happening in so many places around the USA and the world. -

In modern American society, the elderly are many times despised due to their increased age and their refusal to just die.
These elderly Americans have become–because of their longevity–inconvenient to heirs who are impatient and grasping rather than gracious and thankful.
As foretold in a book which the world holds in scorn.

What is more evil than this is people in "Churches" who seek to bring on the Christ they create the Red Button of Jesus by becoming initiators who slowly program the minds of the children as teachers to turn against parents with the funding of Government. which is happening right now. Children being taught to report personal household things. Not things they should like parents touching them the wrong way but about everything. including personal spending habits and everything else.
Children's uprising against their parents. triggering some fathers and mothers to go ballistic. and not having family as first priorities causing brothers to kill brothers and sisters against sisters.
