PNAC: Rebuilding America's Defenses makes very little sense

Just skimmed it now, it just says "America is the world's only superpower", and then "America must spend a fortune on it's military or else the world will not be peaceful".
Of course it never specifies why, or what threats America faces, or anything. The implication is that asking for details is a moral faux pas, and you must hate America if you do.
The names on the document are interesting, mostly jedis of course, John Bolton (one of Trump's Viziers) is mentioned as well. -

I read this the other day, interesting perspective even though I don't really agree. The argument is basically that an empire is able to provide stability that nation-states with differing goals and ideals can't - that the downsides, like intrinsic exploitation, corruption and the like are worth the trade.
Take that argument, give it to people who sit at the top of the pyramid and don't experience any of the downsides and the sort of thinking displayed in that document starts to make more sense.
When they talk about 'defending America' they really mean defending and maintaining the empire, often from groups that just want no part of it.
When they talk about 'maintaining our way of life', they mean maintaining the ability to extract whatever is needed from 'our friends and allies', more specifically the vassals that are becoming more and more difficult to keep in line.The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire! -

a large part of this is because the US military is heavily dependent on satellite communications, and Russia/China have been starting to deploy ASAT launchers in their regular missile brigades
