   That may be very well the case. I do agree with you in principle, especially about FIFA.
   The sport has changed a lot, it is true. It's a lot more about money (big sponsors, viewers, betting etc.) now. But if anything the big teams and the big stars are those which get more protection and a little support, rather than the small teams. Except maybe for the host country team, for obvious reasons.
   
   Germany in this tournament was a sham tbh. Just like Italy was during the qualifying and couldn't make it to the WC, and rightly so. You can't blame other factors for that. I could say the same about Argentina, which barely made it. But in the end they scored and Germany didn't.
