    Not practical, the handle was both metal and some form of plastic..(presumably heat resistant), it's an overly complicated design due to it being the handle for both the outer basket and the inner basket.
    
    The 2 screw posts broke off (both the plastic substance), epoxying them wasn't practically possible due to very little room and again the high temperatures it would face would mean it wouldn't last long.
    
    It's about 4 or 5yrs old and I'm fine with the $75 for a new one to get another 4 or 5 yrs out of it...it served me well.
