   I would say it starts a couple years forgetting names and stuff. For awhile she thought I was someone else and tried to run away and go home. The last six months she didn't know much and pretty much done crazy stuff like putting shit on the walls until she became basically bed bound.
   
   Not something I would wish on anyone, a heart attack would be a better way to go. If I get dementia I hope my wife gives me something to OD on.

   That would be such a weird thing to discern when is the appropriate time to "pull the plug."
   
   Obviously when your loved one doesn't know your name anymore and is smearing shit around I would think that's a good time to do it, but there is also a last time where they DO know your name and they AREN'T smearing shit around. That's kinda fucked up to think about too.

    Yeah it's a fucked up way to go, she lived with my sister the last few months. I was in charge of her finances which wasn't much but I gave it all to her.
    
    The hard part for me was she didn't know who I was but went along with who she thought I was.

    So theoretically there isn't a solution other than killing. Either let the person live knowing they are happy even they no longer know who you are, or kill yourself to end the suffering of yourself knowing your own mom or whoever doesn't know you anymore.
    
    Ultimately when someone gets dementia, it's the end of their family and not their self. That's also weird to think about.

    It is actually the end of themselves. They revert and can’t take care of themselves anymore, like they become babies in adult bodies.
