I got fired from my job

I'm of a different mind. Self-sufficiency. Standalone ingenuity. Autonomy. This is the key to satisfied living. The way I've always lived life is I take care of myself, and I don't need a single fellow human being in order to survive. Sure, I can always use what I want from others, but that doesn't directly translate to a need of them. Reliance only makes you weak. Partnerships make you lazy. Unions make you dumb. And sure, you can always take what you need from the knowledge of others, but you don't have to need it. You have the ability to figure anything out on your own, without any help at all from a fellow human being: that is the pinnacle of success and happiness. You don't need money. You don't need cars. You don't need houses. Instead, you can tie yourself to the earth, to the wind, to the elements, to the chances of fortune, and to the chances of misfortune, a mighty ship sailing an ocean of possibilities. That is truth. That is pure living. That is much preferable to slavery and subjugation and stagnation.
"All I ask is a tall ship, and a star to steer by…" ~ John Masefield
in theory I agree, in practice it's impossible.
