Speaking of reddit posts, I also want to share a post from reddit

Originally posted by twistquest Alright, I have a confession to make: yes, it was me, I was the OP from reddit. It's something I'm very concerned about, and I thought it was relevant to this forum, especially since the member sploo seems to have been in a similar predicament in his life.
Basically, can you understand why I'd be so concerned about IQ as an autistic person?
Good news is, I've managed to find some clarity on the matter from certain sources.
It's funny, I actually slightly modified my text/grammatical structure and worldview/viewpoints to try to make it look like I was a different person on this forum. I guess I have a tendency to overthink things (or should I say, overfeel).
you should talk to malice. i think you two would get on.

your main reason for suicide shouldnt be your IQ, your main reason for suicide should be because you're autistic
i bet this is malice on an alt
If you were a genius Sploo you wouldn't be wasting your time doing bundy and telling everyone on the internet how much of a genius you are. The fact is, the absence of any sort of substantial, positive, worthwhile character traits in you makes it so that you latch onto your single redeeming quality(Your slightly above average intelligence) in such a fashion that it is the only thing that's keeping your fragile ego from crumbling into a million logic pussles. -

Yeah, it's pretty clear he's not a genius either, but based on that reddit post, I'd be surprised if he wasn't in the top 25% or an IQ of about 110. I doubt someone at 96 could write that.
It could be that he's unusually weak in certain cognitive tasks like pattern recognition while having higher verbal intelligence, and this drags down his full scale score.
In any case, OP is clearly capable of doing more with his life than sitting around worried about having a low IQ. His other mental problems are what drag him down. -

Don't listen to Captain Falcon. Maybe you've seen him in The Retarded Thread, but he's a fucking dick and a jackass that gets off on this childish repetitive and unimaginative behavior.

Well, although I see the point you were trying to make, I would have gone with a different analogy to make the point.
This one doesn't work for the point you're trying to make because photos of earth from outer space exsist and there are no turtles present, Thus debunking the idea that we can't disprove the idea that turtles hold up the earth. These photos taken in space prove that turtles are not holding up earth. unless NASA photo cropped them out. ......or if we've never actually been to space & all said photos are faked.
A simple addition of the word "invisible" would make this much more applicable. "......the world isn't held up by a bunch of invisible turtles "
Or something along the lines of "You can't disprove that shadow people plot various schemes in the corner of my living room, and are pinching my sack."
I liked and agreed with argument that you were making but something tells me Specrtral is right. I mean, there are sooo many random activities in existence, one would think that the odds are pretty high for someone to be good at one of them, at least one thing. This thing doesn't have to be huge money maker or even have to be what people normally think of when they think of being "skilled". A ratio of one human to the trillions of verbs possible to participate in, the odds are, there's at least one out there that a person is goood at. It could be yo yo ing, (Yoyos and yoyo tricks were real popular when I was a kid, I think they're due for a comeback). Or, that one thing that a person is good at could be providing emotional support to loved ones. This can be hard, I know that sometimes if someone is upset and crying, I just feel awkward and doubt I'm very comforting.
Tldr: you can most likely safely assume that the earth is not held by turtles but disproving the idea that everyone born is skilled with at least one thing is trickier due to the ratio of a single human to all possible activities in existence -

Read because of sploo.
This reasoning is flawed because it assumes that each distinct activity is another distinct "roll", when the probably reality for proficiency at... anything... is built upon more basic attributes, and knowledge + practice at that activity.
If you (specifically YOU) think you will be better at any physical activity than Conor McGregor after he practices it, you are wrong. If you think you will be better at any video game than IdrA or f0rest, you are wrong. That's because Conor has a basic competitive will and understanding that you don't have, even if you could, you don't. And IdrA and f0rest have hand-eye coordination that you never could. Such is the case for basically every activity; attributes determine your proficiency at them. -

I don't know the word.
I know what you mean though. In simple form, it's like being on a sports team where everyone is rooting for you to do well, and you keep being shitty at the sport, but they keep rooting for you, and you're like 'FUCK, STOP IT. I'M NOT GOOD AT THE SPORT,' but they tell you we're not here for you to do good we're here to support you and just watch you play, and then you get all sad and emotional and cry uncontrollably on the middle of the field holding up the game all awkwardly while everyone else in the audience boos at you. :)
This post made more sense to me than anything ever.
